Helping our Neurodivergent Teachers: Because We Need Them!

Dear school leaders and educators,

👉In 2021, I was diagnosed with ADHD and began a journey to learn how to best work with my brain.

I started by seeking advice, studying books, and trying strategies others had used.

I bought a range of different colourful planners, agendas, and notebooks, and I downloaded every organisational app available.

💡However, it wasn’t until I found my own strategies—which were often the simplest and least colourful options—that I really began to make improvements and found what worked for my own unique brain.

I also recently completed two coaching qualifications, including becoming an ADHD Works coach!

The Result

As a teacher, I was able to stay in a profession I am passionate about by finding ways to deal with overwhelm, lean into my strengths, and manage the demands of admin and organisation.

👉Unfortunately, I have seen many other talented, creative, and caring neurodivergent teachers leave the profession due to burnout and overwhelm.

To address this, I have started FreshADHD to support teachers with ADHD through coaching and training.

How I Support Educators
My focus is on managing executive function challenges, including:

🌱 Memory and motivation

🌱Organisation and breaking down goals

🌱 Emotional regulation

👉 Empowering teachers to find strategies that work for them!
